Chrome doesn’t let extensions read its own pages, such as chrome:// pages, the new tab page and the Chrome Web Store. Open any normal website and click the extension again.
The extension requests the page again without your login, as an AI crawler would. That request failed with the status shown, so the page may need a login or block automated requests. If it’s your site, check your CDN or firewall bot settings.
The checks and weights are the same, but the web audit always reads your homepage from our server. The extension reads the page you have open from your browser, so the page or the response can differ.
The audit requests the page logged out, because that’s what AI crawlers get. Anything that only appears after login isn’t counted.
Your CDN or server may still be returning the old version. Clear its cache, then reload the page and click the extension again.
Go to chrome://extensions, find AEO Checker and click Remove. It stores nothing, so there’s nothing else to clear.
